The probate record for William Simpson b 1829, who died in LIverpool on 16 Jun 1883, showed he was a tobacconist and refresment room keeper of Princes Landing Stage Liverpool. His wife Louisa Margaret Simpson nee Swann (1832-1921) and two of her daughters were running this in 1891. By 1901 the census shows this business was still being run by his daughter Bonnie Maggie Simpson (1860-1947) and three helpers.

Do you know anything about the marriage of Liverpool to the sea which took place when I was
a little girl in the 1920s. I live a long way from the City now but once, when visiting the Albert Dock, a man on a newspaper (historical) stall, who didn't know about the event, looked it up and was surprised to find a report of it. I was born in Liverpool (nee Somerset) and lived there during WW11 and until 1942.

Another great photo Colin. Even though there are quite a few people in the scene there is a very leisurely feel about.
I'm afraid the Echo is going the way of most newspapers - downhill - and I really cannot see them improving.
